Roasted by Coffee Collective, this coffee is a true example of great coffees from Ethiopia.
Kirite is essentially a coffee processed by the METAD washing station who would buy freshly picked coffee cherries from farmers who are part of their out/growers program.
Out/growers are small private farms that are too small to bre able to process their cherries for them selves. previousely they would sell their coffee at the local market where buyers would come by and buy their coffees very cheap.
Being a part of Metad s program, farmers are educated in agricultural processes making them capable of growing coffee of very highh quality.they are not committed to selling their coffees to Metad but considering that Metad pay a higher price than any other buyer in the area , this makes farmers have a easy choice when it comes to selling cherries.
Coffee Collective has paid a quality bonus of 237% above market price ($3.75/lb FOB)
